Ms. Huckabee tells all on her reality tv experience

Part-time reality show star, full-time English teacher, Ashlee Huckabee returns to her hometown not so victorious. Although she was expecting a ring from the bachelor, Mark Holstein, she returned with a toy ring instead.

Huckabee finds an unexpected love on her debut of The Bachelor, although she leaves the show without a win.

"We had to sneak around when I was in California because the producer would not have approved. I was supposed to be smitten with Mark." Huckabee said. "He actually asked me to marry him on our second date. He got a ring out of a gumball machine...I wanted to say yes, but I was laughing too hard. Later, we agreed we'd date for a while longer before deciding on marriage."

Ashlee's sister, senior Cindee Huckabee, was shocked when she found out her sister would be on the show.

"That show is all about gorgeous, fake, dim-witted women who backstab each other to get the guy," Cindee said. "That's just not my sister."

Ashlee also had doubts and went on to the show with little expectations, saying she never thought she would even be selected after auditions.

"I wasn't shocked I was eliminated. I was shocked that I made it as far as I did. [Mark] and I got along great. We had a lot in common, but there just weren't any sparks."

But, like the other bachelorettes, Ashlee reveals that she went on the show hoping to find true love.

"I fell in love - not with Mark, but with one of the cameramen. His name is Cliff West." Ashlee said.

Students such as junior Pablo Olivas are curious about the show and admit to pestering Huckabee for answers.

"She said if we all scored a four or five on the AP test, then we could have a whole class day dedicated to 'The Bachelor'. But until then, she said we have to focus on our work." Olivas said.

The reason for Huckabee's silence isn't just because she wants to focus on learning, she has also signed a contract that prohibits her from talking about the show until its over. Huckabee's elimination episode aired last week, but the season finale with air on Monday.

"The show was a great experience...the ultimate goal for the girls on the show is to get a ring, and I did. Of course, most girls would probably prefer one that doesn't turn their finger green."
